Posada “El Duende del Mar”
A beautiful legend of the Mayan land says that wonderful and magical things happen at night, un-explainable to a human mind: When the darkness of night comes and send us asleep, with sea-waves arise many tiny characters, agile and mischievous entities but with kind face. They play and splash with the water that touches the white sandy beaches of the Caribbean, and then they get lost in the mangrove trails in search fort heir funny pranks. The old town of Playa del Carmen is their favourite place: they wonder around protected by the shadows of the night, and often they tend to visit a beautiful posada where they can breathe pure oxygenated air and revitalised their little bodies. The gardens and the natural environment of the posada is contagious to its occupiers, spreading happiness to their souls: they know it. The Mayans, who came from a smart race, they knew their existence since then. They called them "Aluxes." Elsewhere they are known as duendes (elves or gnomes). Nobody can see them, but those who occupy the comfortable villas know that they are there. They are true sentinels of good humour, peace and tranquillity of soul. If someday you see one of them you will be the luckiest of human beings… And your happiness will become eternal... |
